BUILDING A LEGACY

Boxing trainer and founder of Lionsden Boxing Academy, Igor Pocev began his legacy out of his home garage 20 years ago. After spending eight years training fighters and fitness fanatics in his own  time, it was at this point, time to give up his day job and follow his passion.

In 2010 the first Lionsden Boxing Academy opened its doors in Albion.  With the newfound space, Igor was able to grow his client base.  The move to the Albion premises proved to be the catalyst of growth, with over 100 members joining within the first six months and within 18 months, he and the members had outgrown the gym.

Lionsden Boxing Academy in Taylors Lakes opened its doors where Igor strengthened his legacy and worked on building “The Lionsden family”. Over the 5 years Igor prided himself in knowing every member’s name, their story, and their drive to choose Lionsden. With the mindset of a boxing gym this was not a place just for rough heads, it was and still is, a real family feeling oriented gym.

As the business continued to grow and evolve, Igor opened the largest of his boxing gyms in Kealba.  In this time, he had successfully coached and developed over twenty State Champions, one National Champion and five Professional Boxers.

Over the ensuing years, Lionsden Boxing Academy opened a gym in Delahey in 2018, shortly followed by the Derrimut gym in 2019 continuing to produce many State, National and Professional Boxers.  This story shows no signs of slowing down……..
